Athena P. Constantinou
Athena P. Constantinou has over 30 years of experience in the financial field. Athena holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, with specialization in Accounting and Business Law, from the Bernard M. Baruch School of Business of the City University of New York. She also holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Computer Information Systems from the same school. She is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of New York and she is an international member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She also holds a Chartered Global Management certification, a Financial Education Instructor certification from the US National Financial Educators Council and she is a member of the Sports Financial Advisers Association, the British Association of Sport and Law and the International Wealth Planners Association. She is an associate member of the Sports Lawyers Association.
Athena has had considerable professional experience on an international level in the fields of tax and business consulting, advising high net worth individuals and entities in the sports and entertainment industries for more than 30 years. She has practiced as a CPA for a number of years in New York City with in depth involvement in international tax planning and business consulting in the sports and entertainment industries. During her career, Athena has also been heavily involved in providing advice in connection with tax structuring, development, valuation, commercialization and management of image rights of athletes and entertainers worldwide. During the past five years, since the establishment of the APC Sports Financial Literacy Academy, she has been designing and implementing financial literacy courses for sports academies and sports clubs globally.
Lazaros Ioannou holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, with specialization in Management and Marketing from the University of Cyprus, a Bachelor of Law Degree (LLB) from the University of Nicosia, he is a member of the British Association of Sport and Law and an Associate member of the Sports Lawyers Association.
As a member of the Board of Directors of a Corporate service provider, for seven years, Lazaros was heavily involved in the provision of Intellectual Property and Image Rights registration and management services to high net worth clientele within the Sports and Entertainment Industries. Lazaros has been one of the founding members of the APC Sports Financial Literacy Academy, sharing the vision of reversing the trend of athletes making fatal financial decisions. He is in charge of sports research, always following the latest trends in the Sports Industry especially Sports Youth Development, and creating fresh content for the Sports Financial Literacy Curriculums.
Advisor –International Operations
Andreas Themistocleous is a former international basketball player and NCAA Division 1 student-athlete in the USA. His education background is in Sports Management and Human Resource Management (BSc. MA, MBA). He has over 15 years of professional experience in the sports industry, on an international level, in the areas of business management, commercial operations, facility management, events management, organizational management, youth development and strategy development. In his professional capacity, he has had experience with football management in Cyprus, UEFA club football, the European Clubs Association (ECA), the European Football Development Network (EFDN), the World Footballers Association (FIFPro) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). He has served as a Board Member in the Cyprus Basketball Federation and the Cyprus Karate Federation, as well as headed operations in the Cyprus Anti-Doping Agency. He has been a lecturer in academia, in the areas of Strategic Management, Facility Management and Sports Business Development.
Andreas advises on all aspects of our sports curriculums’ development, from creative curriculum design to the preparation of written and visual training materials and training the trainers of our clientele. His in-depth knowledge of the international sports industry along with his large international sports network give him a unique edge in developing the Sports Financial Literacy Academy’s international operations.
Curriculum Consultant – Women Athlete Issues
Anna Kyprianou is a qualified lawyer who was admitted to the Cyprus Bar Association in 2014. She is a holder of a Masters degree in International Sports Law, obtained from ISDE in Madrid, Spain. She has also published several articles in sports law reviews and legal publications.
Anna previously worked for international law firms but left to pursue a career in the sports industry. Her passion for the underdeveloped sports led to her involvement with women’s football. Currently, she is the representative of the Women Football clubs in Cyprus. By facing the day to day struggles that women of all ages in sport have to deal with, makes her able to assist young athletes achieve their dreams and senior athletes develop their after sports career and life. Anna’s experience with women football and the issues faced by women athletes give her a unique perspective which is reflected in her work and the content she prepares in the areas of financial literacy and empowerment.
Youth Empowerment Consultant
Eliana Satrazami holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economic Studies from the National and Kapodistrian University in Athens and she is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the UK.
Mrs. Satrazami is a Youth Empowerment Consultant of the Sports Financial Literacy Academy. Since 2015 she has been involved in the design and implementation of youth empowerment seminars at the academy level. Her professional background and knowledge of the Generation Z learning characteristics allows her to empower, support and guide young athletes to deliver their utmost in achieving their dreams.
